Potty for pottery: participant opinion

While our blog focusses mostly on the Summer School activities, there is lots more going on – including the recent Prehistoric Pottery Workshop. Here’s what Clive and Laurence Sheppard had to say about their day:

“Castlehill Heritage Centre was the venue for the Bronze Age pottery workshop run by expert Graham Taylor of Potted History.  We were part of the 15 attendants and thoroughly enjoyed our day, which went by far too quickly.

It was a privilege to be given such a knowledgeable,  vivid and entertaining glimpse into the lives of those who lived in our own area so long before us.

The practical session gave us a real experience of the skills they possessed and a tactile feel for their craft.

We are very much looking forward to the rest of the programme and to being involved in the hands-on skills of the archaeological digs.

Thank you to all involved.”

Thank you, Clive and Laurence, for sharing your thoughts with us, and thanks of course to Graham for delivering such an exciting and informative workshop.
