Foodie fun, 15th & 16th August 2015

This weekend, Castlehill Heritage Centre will become a haven for foodie fun! Join Melissa and Romain of the School of Ancient Crafts and find out what our Bronze Age ancestors were eating and drinking, how they were cooking their meals, and what other uses they had for the herbs and plants that grew (and still grow!) in the area. Forage, grind, boil, strain, fire, bake and stir your way into prehistory!

You can register to attend the morning workshops  (open to everyone aged 8 and over, children with an accompanying adult please), or simply pop along in the afternoon to chat to Melissa and Romain and try your hand at grinding grain on a quernstone, among other activities. Find out more about the programme over the weekend here. All completely FREE! As an added incentive, did you know that the courtyard at the Heritage Centre is looking really BEAUTIFUL at the moment? Come and enjoy the flowers along with the food. Fingers crossed for a sunny weekend!
