Another week comes to a close

After a day inside the Castlehill Heritage Centre on Friday the volunteers were itching to get back out on site today (sort of…).  Due to lots of weekend commitments only volunteers Alan and Paul joined AOC’s Gemma and Jamie to record two hut circles, a possible burnt mound and a few field walls in the area just west of Shebster.

Alan got to work plane-tabling the possible burnt mound.  Paul used Michelle (AOC’s GPS) and the “VRS now” connection to record the hut circles and field boundaries.  AOC’s Jamie and Gemma sat down basking in the sun watching their accomplished protegees work!

All the sites were finished by early afternoon when the group headed back to the Castlehill Heritage Centre to pack up AOC and send them back to Edinburgh to continue with the write-up and preparation for Week 3 of the Summer School in September.
